It takes a compassionate heart, not wealth, to help needy
Kathmandu : It takes a heart full of compassion to help the poor and the needy in dire need of succor, not wealth. An Austrian Good Samaritan, Sara Sieber, is a case in this point.
Sieber was volunteering in a Children’s Home at Naya Bazar in Kathmandu.
Following the April 25 earthquake, her families persuaded her hard to return back her home. “They sent me some two dozens of emails, calling me back home,” shared the 21-year old, adding that the love of Nepal and love for Nepalis held her back and contributed to the best of her capacity in the aftermath of the 7.6-magnitude quake.
The writer spotted this Nepal-lover Austrain while she was running an errand in Balaju for the quake-victims in Dhading. “I am buying new clothes and nutritious food for the expecting and new mothers as well as the infants,”
explained Sieber when asked what she had been doing in Nepal unlike many foreigners who chose to fly back to their homeland after the earthquake in Nepal. Sieber has already distributed per family 30 kilogrammes (kg) of rice, two kg lentil, sugar and salts to some 500 families at Baseri in Dhading.
